This is not an all-inclusive list of the services provided by your MCO . We hope it will help you gain a better understanding of the Ohio Workers' Compensation model.

MCO Functions

• Process first reports of injury
• Provide medical case management
• Review and process requests for treatment
• Communicate medical treatment plan
• Facilitate timely return to work
• Review and process medical bills
• Process appeals of treatment decisions through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
• Provide medical documentation/input for handicap reimbursement
• Coordinate services between employer, provider and injured worker
• Provide education
• Provide quarterly and individual reports

The MCO does not determine claim/diagnosis allowances, denials or appeals of those decisions. This includes additional allowance requests.
